Program areas at Harvesting International Ministry Center
Harvesting International responds to food impoverished individuals by providing food with dignity to all those who need assistance. Our mission is to change lives in the communities we serve by feeding the hungry today and building a healthy, hunger-free tomorrow for each of those individuals. We envision a community in which everyone has access to sufficient nutritious food. In 2022, the him food bank distributed 7.9 million pounds of food to families in need, either through our own pantry or through our partner pantries. 43,680 individuals were served by our food pantry with 6.8 million pounds of healthy groceries. We averaged 3000 families each month with grocery assistance. 6,000 students in eight school districts were assisted with backpack meals from our pantry each week. 1,011 senior citizens were assisted with a 40 lb. Box of healthy groceries to accommodate their dietary needs, on a monthly basis. 51 other pantries, located across the dfw metroplex, were assisted with bulk food to insure their own pantries had groceries to distribute. The total individuals from these pantries, on a monthly basis, is approximately 38,600. 1,800 families were assisted with hygiene products and 2000 individuals received new toothbrushes monthly from our food bank. A thanksgiving distribution was held and 2500 meals were given to 2500 families in need. Christmas assistance/meal was given to 100 families and 268 children received an item of clothing and a toy. Nourishing hope and transforming lives to help the family become independent is our mission when assisting families back on their feet.
