The College sits on 120 acres with more than 40 academic, residential, and athletic buildings; enrolls 978 students from 37 states and 25 foreign countries; and is fully accredited by the higher learning commission. Hastings College operates on a modified block schedule to provide more intensive learning interactions between students and faculty. Graduation requirements include completion of 120 hours of credits.hastings College strives to provide the highest quality liberal arts education for its students while serving as an important educational and cultural center for the Hastings community and south central Nebraska. "Hastings College offers more than 40 academic majors and 14 pre-professional programs and bestows bachelor of arts, bachelor of music, and master of arts in teaching degrees. The top primary majors of full-time students are business administration, exercise science, psychology, biology, studio art, and criminology. With a student-to-faculty ratio of 14-to-1, the College offers its students personalized contact with dedicated professors from some of the nation's top graduate programs. Eighty-seven percent of full-time faculty have a doctorate or other terminal degree.in fall 2023, Hastings College welcomed 347 first-year students, the largest incoming student class in a decade. With transfer students included, the incoming student count exceeded 400. In september 2023, the education center for a nursing workforce partnership between Hastings College, bryan College of health sciences, and mary lanning healthcare opened for classes. Located in the medical office building at mary lanning healthcare, the daugherty educational center for health professions provides classrooms and laboratories for students in the four-year bachelor of science in nursing program, which is expected to enroll more than 100 students within four years. Hastings College has announced ambitious plans to build a new state of the art residence hall and transform its existing housing and dining spaces. The improvements will begin in summer 2024, and the new residential complex will open by fall 2026. The investments are supported by the walter scott family foundation and other foundations, trustees, and donors.hastings College received a $1.12 million grant from lilly endowment inc. to establish aspire, the academy of student preachers inspiring religious engagement. The program is funded through the endowment's compelling preaching initiative. The aim of the initiative is to foster and support preaching that inspires, encourages, and guides people to live out their christian faith more fully.u.s. News and world report ranks Hastings College 11th on the list of best value colleges in the midwest, which takes into account academic quality and net cost of attendance. U.s. news also places Hastings College on a list recognizing colleges that are successful in advancing social mobility by enrolling and graduating federal pell grant recipients. The Washington monthly ranks Hastings College in the top 20 percent of bachelor degree-focused schools that contribute to the public good in three categories: social mobility, research, and promoting public service.hastings College is deeply entrenched in the local community and highly regarded for its educational and cultural programs, many of which are free and open to the public. These include guest lectures and symposia, concerts and recitals, art exhibits, and theater productions. Students, faculty, and staff are active in the community as civic leaders and volunteers. In recognition of students' community service, Hastings College offers a service learning certificate for students wishing to align their service work with academic reflection and intellectual inquiry.
