Hawaii Animal Kuleana Alliance (HAKA)

Hawaii Animal Kuleana Alliance's mission is to provide animal search, rescue, and recovery during disasters and emergencies. They also educate the public about disaster preparedness for themselves and their pets while cultivating relationships between the community and its animals through education. Recently, they assisted with animal search, rescue, and recovery efforts on the island of Maui after the Kula and Lahaina wildfires. Over a four-month period, twenty volunteers traveled to Maui to aid in recovery efforts while also assisting smaller animal rescue/shelter organizations.
