The Hawai'i Forest Industry Association encourages responsible expansion of Hawaii's forest industry through education, planning, information exchange, marketing, and advocacy. With community partners, HFIA is creating the Honolulu Zoo Children's Discovery Forest exhibit to demonstrate culturally significant Hawaiian plant species. The organization also hosts Woodshow to advance and improve all aspects of Hawaii's forest industry for members and the general public. It is located in O Okala, HI.

Woodshow - to provide members and the general public with opportunities for education, dialogue, advancement and improvement in all aspects of the Hawaii Forest Industry.

Using captive propagation and release techniques, kbcc is reestablishing self-sustaining populations of critically endangered Hawaiian birds in the wild. In 2014, hfi worked with kbcc to create the first 1.8-acres of the discovery Forest. An additional 4 acres are being planted in 2015.
