Program areas at Hawaii State Bar Foundation
As the supporting organization of the Hawaii State Bar association (hsba), grants are made to support the charitable and educational mission of the hsba, a 501(c)(6) organization, to fund public service projects such as the self help centers in the courts for pro se parties and the judiciary's courts in the community, bringing supreme court arguments to Hawaii public high schools.
Our fellows program accepts donations from individuals who are designated as follows: founding life fellow - pledge 1,000/year for 5 years and continuing each year founding fellow - pledge 1,000 (250/year for 4 years) and continuing each year associate founding fellow - 100 per year while eligible to be a member of the young lawyers division these donations to hsbf are used to further hsbf's tax-exempt purpose, in general, and the specified program service accomplishments listed above.
Grants to deserving programs and nonprofit organizations that further hsbf's mission, including improving delivery of legal services to those in need, facilitating access to justice and increasing public understanding of the law in Hawaii communities.
To support the charitable, scientific, literary, religious, or educational purposes withing the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code (or the corresponding provision of any future united states internal revenue law) (the "code").
