for more than two decades, Head for the Cure has remained unwavering in our central mission: to "defeat brain cancer step by step." Over these 20 years, our journey has brought together a remarkable community of over 250,000 participants, donors, and dedicated supporters, each of whom has left an indelible mark, guiding the way for others to follow.in these two decades of operation, hftc has hosted nearly 250 5k run/walk events, spanning across 32 cities in the united states. We've proudly granted support to 60 different beneficiaries, totaling 400 grants. Alongside this, we've had the honor of recognizing more than 630 survivors who embody resilience and strength as they "keep the faith." Our digital presence has seen over 1.1 million supporters visit headforthecure.org, and our physical events have been graced by over 250,000 runners, walkers, donors, and volunteers.however, Head for the Cure is more than just numbers and figures. It's about creating a profound connection within the brain cancer community. Every hftc-hosted 5k event and fundraiser serves as a beacon of hope, a space for shared experiences, and a platform for creating lasting legacies. While a core purpose is to raise funds for research, we also hold these events to foster a deep sense of community, offering hope, unity, remembrance, and joy.in every hftc-hosted 5k event and fundraiser, we leaned on our dedicated supporters, medical and scientific partners, team captains, participants, donors, sponsors, and volunteers to harness the incredible power of our community. It has been the driving force behind our progress. In 2022 alone, we raised nearly $2.6 million, marking it as the second-highest revenue total in Head for the Cure's history. Our 20th annual Head for the Cure 5k-metro kc was particularly noteworthy, becoming the highest individual fundraising event in hftc history, raising nearly $600,000.these funds have enabled us to issue 36 grants to our partner hospitals and brain tumor centers across the nation to propel crucial research. We expanded our support groups, such as "patient perspectives and "caregiver conversations," offering guidance, a shoulder to lean on, and a network of understanding for hundreds within our community.moreover, we continued to fortify our "brains for the Cure" patient and caregiver navigator program, and we are thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of the "join your path to hope" personalized online platform in 2023, which will further extend our reach and support.2022 was an exceptional year for the Head for the Cure Foundation. Our community continues to leave footprints of hope, unity, legacy, and remembrance as we tirelessly pursue our mission to "defeat brain cancer step by step." We recognize that our events are not just about fundraising; they are about creating a profound connection that uplifts those who are fighting, honors those we have lost, and stands as a testament to the strength and resilience of those who continue to fight for their memory. Together, we move forward, one step at a time, with hope as our guiding light.
