Creates a learning community where parent involvement and education are cornerstones that are vital to assisting each child in developing their potential, empowering parents in their roles.

Maternal infant early childhood home visiting program (miechv) - program expands evidence based home visiting models, and build statewide home visiting system infrastructure. Early Head Start is one of the evidence based home visiting models. The target population of miechv early Head Start is pregnant women and children under 12 months. The goals of miechv services are: improved maternal and newborn health, prevention of child injuries, child abuse, neglect, or maltreatment and reduction of emergency department visits, improvements in family economic self-sufficiency, and improvements in the coordination and referrals for other community resources and supports.
