Program areas at Healing Justice Project

Healing Justice (HJP) addresses the individual and community harm caused by wrongful convictions. We offer restorative programs to help people heal (our healing programs) and conduct widespread education to improve our justice system's response in these cases (our justice programs). In our healing programs, we offer both individual and group opportunities for peer-to-peer support and restorative justice. In our justice programs, we provide specialized training and technical assistance to justice practitioners and agencies in states around the country. In all of our work, we uplift the voices of people who have been directly impacted by injustice, and we utilize trauma-recovery tools to enable individual and community recovery.
