Health Builders major accomplishments include the following:1.Health Builders trained and mentored 936 healthcare providers in 52 PHC centers on RMNCH, NCDs, IPC, data and resource management. A performance assessment of the 52 Primary Healthcare (PHC) conducted by Health Builders in March 2023 showed the following results:General performance for all the 52 PHC centers supported by Health Builders has been increased from 61% in 2019 to 76% in 2022Health Builders trained and mentored healthcare providers on integrated management of childhood illnesses (IMCI). 83% of children under five years have received proper treatment for the most common childhood infectious diseases (malaria, diarrhoea and pneumonia) in 2022 compared to the baseline of 63% Health Builders trained and mentored health centers staff in leadership and governance, monitoring and evaluation, pharmaceutical and financial management. The general performance of health centers in management has improved from 55 % in 2016 to 86 % in 2022.2.The obstetric ultrasound programs impact at 31 PHC centers in Rwamagana and Nyabihu Districts is exceptional: 38,411 scans for expectant mothers have been performed and 2,028 high risk pregnancies referred after Ultrasound test since January 2020 to June 2023. In 2021 and 2022, 22, 686 scans have been performed. These mothers would otherwise have to travel more than two hours to access the service have received care at their nearest PHC centers. Previously ultrasound machines were only present at district hospitals and as a result, PHC centers had to conduct a lengthy referral process to send pregnant women to the district hospitals for ultrasound scanning. 3.Mwulire health center construction was completed and launched in May 2023: This health center will serve over 34,000 people residing in Mwulire Sector of Rwamagana District. As of August 25, 2023, 4,778 people had consulted this health center including women and children4.Completion and operation of three new health posts: Health Builders completed a pilot of three different design sizes (Small, Medium and Large) in Rulindo-a rural district in the Northern Province of Rwanda. The three health posts have been equipped and staffed, providing healthcare to the communities. As of June 2023, the three health posts have recorded in total more than 4,630 outpatient consultations, including mothers and the under-five children, effective February 2023. 5.Health Builders completed the digitalization of its M&E tool: The tool has been used in the current 2022 health centers performance assessments. It is assisting the organization in making the transition from paper to digital surveying. It is also helping the organization in safely storing data, gaining easy access to it, reducing some of the errors that occur while manually entering data and easing the process of giving feedback to health facilities as individual health center performance dashboards will be created.
