Program areas at Health Disparities Collaborative of Ohio
The Ohio Federation for Health Equity and Social Justice worked to reduce and eliminate disparties in pn physical, mental and oral health, child welfare, juvenile justice, education and economics security that disproportionately impact communities of color while increasing cultural proficiency through strategic priorities and programs that reach thousands annually. These efforts included education programs and events, advocacy and community engagement initiatives. We held statewide Symposiums on Health Status of Ohioans and multiple symposiums on Health Equity and racism. We promoted researched based policy solutions in the areas of Health Disparities, child welfare and kinship care to improve the lives of Ohio's children, families and adults.
The Federation engages in the study and effect of racism and health and its impact in America.
The Federation successfully engages and influences the conversation around issues of disparity in physical, mental and oral health, child welfare, juvenile justice education and economic policies affecting minority and marginalized Ohioans. Particularly issues that present the biggest barriers family wellbeing through targeted public awareness campaigns, partnerships and coalitions. Seizing opportunities through traditional and social media to publicize our message allows Ohioans to gain knowledge of status of family well-being.
