Health in the Hood is creating healthier communities by providing equitable access to nutritious food through our food distribution programs. Each week we distribute up to 450 fresh grocery boxes directly addressing food insecurity and supporting the well-being of families in food desert communities.
Wellness Program-Our vegetable gardens become living classrooms and our wellness classes encourage participants to adopt lifestyle habits that directly impact their health and longevity.
Urban Gardens Program-We transform vacant land in food desert neighborhoods into vibrant vegetable gardens. Our urban gardening model creates sustainable resilient neighborhoods while providing free healthy produce and empowering residents to live healthier lives.
