Lived experience councilone of hbgi's central tenets is embedding the perspectives of people most affected by mental and neurological health research in both the strategy and action. To that end, hbgi formed a lived experience council, bringing together people across a wide variety of ages, locations, conditions, and ethnicities to help build hbgi from the bottom-up.lived experiences refer to the experiential knowledge of someone who has personal experiences of a particular phenomenon. Within the brain health landscape, lived experience can refer to someone with personal experience with mental or neurological challenges, whether they have lived with the condition themselves or have cared for a friend or family member with the condition.hbgi hosted its first in-person workshop in marrakesh, morocco, held in october 2022 on how to effectively embed lived experience in a mental health organization.
