Healthy Climate Communities educates and empowers local action on climate change. It engages youth by hosting field trips for 1,193 students from PreK to High School at its project site, where they learn about the environment and participate in planting or caring for a native forest. Additionally, it conducts in-school workshops on climate change for 481 students. The initiative also trains public school teachers, offering for-credit courses and specialized training for science educators focused on climate change, successfully training 50 teachers.
