Provided trainings and Public education on covid-19 Public Health guidance. Support community covid testing and vaccination sites; help reduce covid-19 related Health disparities; increase access to covid-19 vaccine among higher risk and underserved populations; increase capacity of cbos to deliver culturally and linguistically tailored Public Health education, communication, and training to targeted population; improve and expand community education.
Coordinate statewide Public education for youth and adults on effective tobacco control strategies, including e-cigarette dangers and tobacco tax, and protecting funding. Work to implement the state strategic plan and convene community meetings to build A strong Tobacco-Free network.
Address the social determinants of Health, including physical activity / built environment and nutrition / food security to improve Health, reduce the prevalence of covid-19 related chronic disease, and reduce Health disparities among low-income residents, native Hawaiian, pacific islanders, and filipinos through prevention efforts and activities. Work with qualified organizations who serve and represent the priority populations to aid in maximizing the impact and reach of the redetermination campaign. Priority populations include: medicaid-eligible pregnant and postpartum individuals and their families, native hawaiians, pacific islands, filipinos, recent immigrants, and unhoused and unstably housed individuals and families.
Provided professional development trainings and technical support to Public Health professionals on A wide array of Public Health issues. Provided training and logistical support to community Health workers (chws) to increase the capacity of chws. Provided fiscal management services to Public Health agencies with aligned missions. Coordinated substance abuse prevention, Healthy eating + active living, farm to school, oral Health, kupuna and community Health research efforts across the state. Co-convene stakeholders in food systems transformation in Hawaii and provide initiative coordination with the project team and support areas where needed. Provide support for policy, systems, and environmental changes (pse) to demonstrate concrete and practical actions on how Health disparities can be reduced through existing programs for groups at risk. Support the advancing of Public Health policy and advocacy in Hawaii project.
