The Healthy Start Coalition of maimi-dade serves as Miami-Dade county's prenatal and infant care Coalition. By partnering with local community-based organizations and healthcare professionals, we plan, coordinate, and provide high-quality health and education services to pregnant women, fathers, infants, children to age three and women of childbearing age. Hscmd oversees multiple programs in Miami-Dade county, including connect, Healthy Start, t.e.a.m. Dad, nas/sen and mbd. Through universal screenings, connect identifies needs and links families to the programs that best serve them. See schedule o for additional information.the Healthy Start program provides education, support, and proven interventions to expecting and new families who are at risk of a poor birth outcome or delay in development through this program. By teaching, empowering, advocating, and mentoring (t.e.a.m.) Dad, this program works with expecting dads and fathers of children age birth to three years to achieve their goal of having a positive impact in their children's lives. The neonatal abstinence syndrome/substance exposed newborn (nas/sen) project provides services to families impacted by substance use. Services such as intensive care coordination, peer support services, linkage to housing, employment, and education services, assistance with childcare services, and referral to substance abuse treatment. The moving beyond depression (mbd) is an evidence-based, comprehensive approach to identifying and treating depression in mothers in the perinatal period and participating in home visiting programs. In this current year, the organization's programs served 43,439 individuals.
