Pregnancy education and parenting program clients served in 2022: 246 Heart To Heart's Pregnancy education and parenting classes are part of the live and learn program formerly called the empowered parenting program ("epp") the goal of this program is To educate clients throughout their Pregnancy and beyond, into early childhood. The classes teach many areas concerning newborn care, caring for the mother after labor and delivery, the prevention of accidents as well as illnesses and nutrition. Epp class concepts span from preparing for motherhood through pre-natal care and bonding with their baby, the birthing process itself and breastfeeding, To infant and post-natal care. During each class, the client is tested both before and after the lesson To ensure retention and understanding. After the client completes each class, she is awarded 50 "points." These points can be redeemed for baby items such as diapers,bottles, clothes, formula, toys, blankets and other essentials. After completing ten classes and accumulating 500 points, clients are able To redeem their points for A new car seat.
Relationship education and abstinence student appointments in 2022: 201 the overcomers program is run both in and out of the office. Once A month, the overcomers director meets with students at the middle school for A round table discussion regarding leadership and relationships. During the summer, classes are offered for 4th To 6th grades. In the four day course, students are taught age appropriate lessons on health, relationships, leadership and abstinence.
Medical (Pregnancy tests and sonograms) program appointments in 2021: 94. Medical and counseling clients are seen by Heart To Heart's registered nursing staff. The goal of the program is To educate and To assist the client in making an informed decision about her Pregnancy options. Clients are encouraged To share their story with the nurse as A neutral and confidential party. Nurses provide A wealth of knowledge regarding Pregnancy options, contact information for resources in the community, as well as referrals To ob/gyn doctors for ongoing pre-natal care. Nurses offer basic prenatal teaching as well as free prenatal vitamins. Clients who are undecided regarding their Pregnancy outcome are encouraged To work through A decision guide with the nurse. Ultrasounds are offered for women To see how far along they are in their Pregnancy, determine if the Pregnancy is viable and provide an opportunity To bond with their baby in utero, all free of charge.
