Program areas at Her Song Jacksonville
Transition & Recovery Housing: Her Song provides safe housing and comprehensive services through a growing network of homes. Her Song operated three safe homes in the Jacksonville area in 2023, two in Chattanooga, and one in Columbus. Through phased programming, residents gain skills to navigate life and build long-term health, well-being, and self-sufficiency. Her Song program services include screenings, assessments, and referrals to community service providers, safety planning, case management, safe housing, counseling, life skills classes, educational planning, and economic empowerment mentoring programs. We provided 8,545 safe nights for survivors in 2023.
Awareness and Education: Her Song partnered with other curriculum designers to develop K-12 Child Trafficking Prevention curriculum. In addition, Her Song created more content for community education and awareness to train professionals on victim identification and trauma-informed services. Content has been deployed in schools around Florida and to healthcare professionals, law enforcement officers, legal professionals, parents, and community members.
Victim Outreach & Care Coordination: In 2023, 956 calls and referrals were directed to Her Song looking for assistance. They were screened and validated for human trafficking, and connected with resources at Her Song and within the community. Her Song engaged with over 1,600 people in our outreach efforts. This includes the streets and/or incarcerated in jails or prisons.
Expansion: Her Song management traveled to New York to scout a proposed city location considering critical minimums needed within a new city through partnerships and community connections positioning Her Song to launch their program which includes victim outreach, care coordination and long-term residential programming. With the community engagement and needs assessment of the area supporting the decision, management later traveled to New York to begin recruiting staff for a FY2024 launch of the new city.
