Hero Pups acquires and trains dogs with the potential to assist veterans and first responders. Over 191 dogs have been placed since its inception, increasing independence and peace of mind for those who serve. In 2022, over 30 dogs were successfully placed, while also making strides towards building a new facility.

Program areas at Hero Pups

Acquire and train dogs that may have the potential to complete further training or placement with a candidate. In 2023, Hero Pups placed 24 support dogs with veterans and first responders, adopted 51 shelter pets to veteran homes, and constructed a brand new 9600 square foot facility. Our new space will enable us to continue to train support dogs for veterans and first responders, as well as offer animal-assisted therapy and recreational therapy while training the dogs in our care.
