Direct or inderect food distribution: High Desert Second Chance operates a warehouse facility distributing donated and purchased food to 46 community partnerships in the high desert area. The community partnership includes: churches, food pantries,soup kitchen,Senior Center,Homeless Shelters, colleges and supplementalfood programs for these communities that lack brick and motor pantries. We service indinidual families that are in need of supplemental food support. The Foodbank schedules weekly mobile pantry distribution on Saturday that delivers fresh, dry and frozen food. High Desert Second Chance Foodbank has distributed 1.4 million pounds of food, the equivalent of 173 thousand meals,through the community partnership and its own direct services 50% of the food that was distributed was donated food through the food rescue program which captures and distributes surplus food from growers, processor and retail outlets which would end up in ourlandfills.
