Hill Country Conservancy preserves natural areas, rivers and streams, and farms and ranches in the Hill Country. HCC provides and promotes health and human services in counties and metropolitan areas across the state of Texas, particularly throughout the Edwards Aquifer region. It engages the community in its mission through programs such as emerging professionals in conservation, two city-wide volunteer days, and multiple fundraising events.

Program areas at Hill Country Conservancy

Land transactions - Hill Country Conservancy (hcc) partners with landowners to protect open space in the Texas Hill Country through the execution of conservation easements in order to protect water supply, maintain native wildlife habitats, and mitigate flooding.
Community engagement - hcc promotes conservation in our community through educational programming, volunteer opportunities, landowner workshops, and outdoor recreation activities.
Public spaces - hcc provides access to nature by maintaining two nature preserves in the austin area, as well as building and operating the violet crown trail, currently a 13-mile public recreational trail. When completed, the trail will stretch 30 miles.
Other program services - hcc works with landowners and partners to steward and protect natural resources in the Texas Hill Country, including working to conserve water quality, implementing ecological restoration programs and partnering with public and private stakeholders to ensure clean water and air quality in the region.
