Program areas at Hillsboro Area Health System NFP
Operation of an outpatient clinic began on May 10, 2010. Hillsboro Specialty Clinics is a medical clinic, consisting of 4,589 square feet, at which out of town specialty physicians lease space for the examination of patients. There were 4257 visits to the Clinic from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023. Hillsboro Area Health System also owns 5,336 square feet of space that is used rent free by Lincoln Land Community College and other educational institutions for the instruction of nursing and other health education classes to local students.
Hillsboro Area Health System NFP provided grant funds to Southern Illinois University School of Medicine for research projects during the fiscal year. In the Youth Assessment Research Project, SIU partnered with the local school district to survey the students to identify potential mental health needs in the community. Programs were chosen for the high school and junior high school that address the concerns and needs found in the survey.
