Program areas at Hillsides
Family resource centers and community based programs - we offer therapeutic support for individuals from birth through adulthood via community-based, school-based and in-home programs. Programs and services include case management and mental healthcare including family outreach and engagement activities; crisis intervention; clinical assessment and psychological testing; individual, family and/or group counseling; medication management; family needs assessments; coordinated system navigation; educational support services, family preservation; and wraparound services. These interventions are designed to strengthen and heal children and families, preventing children from having to enter foster care or a more restrictive treatment environment. 2,662 clients were served; impacting 9,393 family members.
Foster care & adoption program - we match children aged birth to 17 with loving resource families within our multi-county network until they can be safely reunited with their birth family or adopted. Our resource families are highly trained and thoroughly screened. We provide ongoing case management and support to children and families throughout their time in the program to ensure placements are stable, healthy and long lasting. 184 children and youth were served; impacting 552 family members.
Residential treatment services - provides a safe, stable and therapeutic environment for children and youth who are unable to remain in their homes or have severe emotional or behavioral challenges, through short term shelter, residential treatment and tiered inpatient, partial hospitalization and outpatient treatment services. These programs leverage Hillsides' expertise in child welfare, mental healthcare and trauma informed care practices to help children ages 6-17 heal, thrive and pursue their full potential. With input from children and families, Hillsides partners with other agencies and resources to provide them with the highest quality continuum of care and ensure they reach their full potential. 355 clients were served; impacting 212 family members.
Youth moving on - provides transition-aged youth (16-25) who are emerging from foster care, probation or are otherwise homeless or disconnected with independent living assistance and comprehensive services including transitional housing, workforce development, mental healthcare, case management food, hygiene and other basic needs support. The program is designed to empower youth with the skills and support system they need to achieve emotional and economic wellbeing. Services are accessed via youth moving on's drop-in peer resource center in pasadena. 494 clients were served.
