Growth & base-building: - we hired 3 full time staff and 9 part time staff - we received 52 submissions from south asian students from 19 american states and 9 indian states for our second annual civil Rights essay and art contest - 431 people attended our in-person events in Washington dc, new york, and the bay area - 19 organizations co-sponsored our first-ever multi-faith deepavali celebration on capitol hill in Washington, dc - we were invited to diwali celebrations hosted by the white house briefings & testimony: - led 7 briefings for leaders at the national security council, state dept., and senate foreign relations committee - invited to speak as experts at 4 government-orgnized briefings for the state dept, national security council, and congress - one testimony at a hearing of the us commission on international religious freedom - one side event orgnized at the un Human Rights council in geneva press: - received over 225 press mentions and have become a trusted source for reporters at outlets including nbc, reuters, npr, and the Washington post for our perspectives on current affairs, politics, faith and culture - published over 20 op-eds in publications including time magazine, the print, and the wire social media: - increased our twitter following by nearly 20% to reach over 12.5k people - amassed over 2.5 million impressions on tweets - reached over 2,500 followers on instagram community engagement: - organized 4 panels and spoke on 10 separate panels held by partner orgnizations at the parliament of world's religions in chicago
