Program areas at HACER

Research: Hacer engaged in different projects throughout the year, including the conclusion of our oral history of lake street project, which recovered the voices of those who revitalized and reinvented the street as a key economic corridor for minneapolis. We completed a study on the economic impact of undocumented workers in southern Minnesota. An assessment of needs of latino artists in Minnesota was developed, as requested by the mn arts board. Hacer conducted and finalized Research on eating habits and their correlation with high rates of obesity within latino population, focusing in the rural areas of southern Minnesota. We worked in partnership with the counties of ramsey, hennepin, anoka, and others in researching diverse topics.
Leadership: Hacer provided different opportunities for training and support to participants in multiple projects, including healthcare topics, economic access, housing, political engagement and data management. Members of Hacer's team participated in multiple organizations as volunteers, including becoming members of different board of directors teams.
Outreach: we continued working in partnership with the Minnesota department of health in informing the latino communities about resources to navigate the covid-19 pandemic and its consequences in health. We partnered with different government offices, at cities, counties and regional levels, as trusted messengers, to bringing information about resources to the latino communities in the state. As a Research organization, we engaged in different activities to disseminate our findings and information to diverse communities, via Community forums and social media channels. Hacer also participated and presented in multiple conferences, being invited as key-note-speakers in several forums.
Evaluation: different projects evaluating clients and contractor programs.
