Program areas at Hispanic and Immigrant Center of Alabama

Strong families hicas gateway program that assists individuals with information and referrals on health, education, and legal issues. The program provides comprehensive case management for victims of crime and provides wraparound family services for recently arrived Immigrant families, including funds for emergency assistance. The program also works with law enforcement to assist human trafficking victims. Strong families also leads the Alabama language access coalition
Citizenship and immigration provides low-cost and high-quality legal immigration services for naturalization, permanent residency, family petitions, humanitarian visas, daca renewals. The program has recently launched an esl program for those seeking citizenship via naturalization. Hica is accredited by the us department of justice to provide these services.
Empowering communities leads hicas college access and workforce development initiatives for latinos and immigrants. It also includes the organizations non-partisan civic engagement efforts to register voters and increase voter participation as well as leading census efforts to accurately count the Hispanic population in Alabama. Finally, it houses the organizations advocacy efforts to promote inclusive Immigrant policies.
