Program areas at Holocaust Museum and Center for Tolerance and Education

The Holocaust Museum & Center for Tolerance and Education is the epicenter of our community in fighting antisemitism, intolerance and hatred of all forms. Our mission is to educate, through the lens of the Holocaust, about the dangers of intolerance, to invoke critical thinking, and to inspire moral courage in the face of injustice. At our current location on the campus of Rockland Community College, we educate approximately 30,000 students each year through our Museum exhibits and educational workshops. Our lessons are designed to use the Holocaust as a beacon of learning to not only learn about the horros of the past, but also about the power of courage and kindness, and the need for empathy, acceptance and understanding in our daily lives. We also provide community programming to commemorate the Holocaust and provide open forums to discuss issues relative to tolerance and against hatred. Our Cafe Europa programs provide a safe space for Holocaust survivors to come together, buil connections and enjoy one and other and supportive programming.
