Holy Cross Ministries of Utah (hcm) offers two health programs: 1) promotor/a outreach program and the counseling program: promotor/a outreach program: hcms promotor and promotoras are bilingual, bicultural community health workers (chw) who help clients navigate the complexities of the healthcare system and get connected with critical community resources. In 2023, hcms community health workers provided 1,627 resource connections and served 1,549 individuals. 2) counseling program: hcms bilingual, bicultural therapist provide trauma-informed individual, family and group therapy, primarily for immigrant women and children fleeing domestic violence or human trafficking. In 2023, hcms therapist provided 3,997 counseling sessions and served 492 clients.
Hcm offers two education programs: 1) the parents as teachers (pat) program: the parents as teachers program provides a home visiting service for young families from the prenatal stage to their childs third birthday. In 2023, hcms pat program maintained its recognition as a blue ribbon affiliate, a prestigious designation that affirms hcm as one of the top-performing home visiting affiliates in the parents as teachers national centers international network. The pat program also served 136 parents and children, enrolled 13 new families and celebrated 18 pat program graduates. 2) school readiness program: the school readiness program offers classroom-based preschool curriculum for three-and four-year-olds. In 2023, hcm's school readiness program (srp) thrived, accommodating all families in summit and wasatch counties without any classroom closures, providing 132 days of classroom instruction and 1,229 hours of high-quality childcare for 56 preschool students.
Hcms legal immigration program helps immigrants and their families gain legal status, participate more fully in the community and attain self- sufficiency. In 2023, hcms legal team assisted 2,372 individuals. The team also held 1,099 initial legal consultations and submitted 1,393 forms on behalf of hcm clients.
