Homes for Islanders

Coordinates and provides technical support and supervisory assistance to San Juan County families during the construction of their own homes and administers the loans received by the individual families from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to acquire land and construct their own homes. During the previous fiscal year, the organization secured land for its next construction project. New operations were ceased while pursuing the new land and managing the existing properties. The organization is managed by the board of directors while keeping operating costs minimal.
