Program areas at Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary

Rescue. Rehabilitaion. Rehome. Homeward Bound conducts a comprehensive adoption program wherein each dog receives a health and behavioral assessment, is provided with medical care, attention and support needed to prepare for adoption in a loving home. Potential adopters undergo a home inspection and approval process to make the best matches possible. If for any reason, a dog can no longer stay with its matched family, it will return to Homeward Bound. Our commitment to the dog is lifelong.
Foster program. Our short-term foster program frees space for more dogs and provides valuable information about how the dog behaves in a home. Long-term, permanent foster is available for very senior dogs and dogs with special needs. Homeward Bound provides lifelong medical care reducing the burden on families so dogs that are otherwise not likely to be adopted can be home.
Golden touch program. The "Golden touch: a senior-to-senior connection" program matches senior goldens with retired persons and couples who are at least 60 years of age, not working, and on a limited income. The adoption fee is waived. The adopters ensure the dogs are fed, cared for and loved.
