Program areas at Hooah Wi

WARRIOR WELLNESS This program provides direct mental health support to veterans and their families who struggle with PTSD, TBI, and trauma coping. Our partnership with certified trainers and professionals who consistently evolve their approach to treating these issues in a way that feels manageable for the veteran is what allows us to be uniquely positioned and desired for this service. This program offers a low barrier for entry and unique extra-curricular activities including two-day retreats and project nights that allow for alternative experiences to develop relationships with other veterans and create comfort in learning and growing in new and healthy lifestyles and skills.
OPERATION COLDSNAP This program was developed in partnership with a Wisconsin-based heating, ventilation, and air-conditioner to provide tune-ups, servicing, and replacement of furnaces in the homes of combat veterans and gold-star families. Often times this is an unforeseen expense for an individual or family. Due to the importance of this utility, HOOAH WI and the HVAC partner make the repair or replacement a priority and have the work done at no charge and less worry to the veteran/family.
YOGA FOR VETERANS This program was developed to allow for an introductory opportunity and growth of a wellness activity that is proven to assist with coping with PTSD, anxiety, and depression, and overall well-being. Our partnership with various yoga studios throughout the state offer regular classes to veterans at no cost and a discount to significant others, allowing them to develop a healthy lifestyle option together. The experience creates another opportunity for veterans to meet others who have shared life experiences, which is often said to be a need.
Other programs and services offered by HOOAH WI and partners work to create community, promote healthy lifestyle changes, and lessen worry of otherwise burdensome and/or unexpected expenses.
