Program areas at Ho'Oulu Ka 'ike

Ho'Oulu Ka 'ike youth program: cultural program teaching the youth to be stewards of the land and ocean. Teaching the students life skills with water safety and learning to work with the weather conditions and recognizing the signs of rough weather conditions to come. Youth also learns paddling techniques, chants, protocol, hula and Hawaiian crafts, all related to the Canoe.
Visitor paddle: cultural program that allows visitors to maui to experience going out in the Canoe and learning Canoe chants and the history of Hawaiian Voyaging.
Halau Ka iwikuamo'o (adult protocol): cultural program learning the chants, hula, ha'a and protocols that are related to the canoes. Mo'olelo, star navigation, and the use of the Hawaiian moon calendar is also practiced and taught.
