Program areas at Hope Clubhouse of Southwest Florida
Education - offer educational opportunities for people with mental health issues to start or complete programs at academic institutions or adult education programs utilize talents and skills of members & staff to provide ged classes to members, utilize skills of members to teach members computer skills, writing skills and grant skills.
Wellness - healthy meal planning, preparation & service, budgeting, running a healthy snack bar, shopping for and growing healthy plant-based foods, exercise programs (walking, yoga, cardio exercise), music therapy, wellness education programs on diet, exercise, disease prevention, and managing mental health.
Employment - career development offers entry or re-entry into the workforce of part-time jobs with local employers, offer on-site training & support from staff to learn job skills such as culinary skills, janitorial skills, clerical skills and media skills as well as landscaping skills, support and resources to assist members in securing & maintaining permanent employment training and work for people with mental health issues in newsletter production, accounting, statistics, Clubhouse orientation, tours, cashiering, and janitorial services. For people ready for permanent employment, staff assess their skills and place them in jobs with our employer partners.
