Program areas at Hope of the Poor
the organization provides mission pilgrimages to meet the Poor and provide Hope for them through various projects. Hope of the Poor works to ease spiritual suffering, which manifests in loneliness, feelings of being unloved, and depression, by sharing the gospel, spending time with people, and showing them the love of christ in our actions. We hug, take photos together, smile, shake hands, and listen to people who feel that no one even knows they exist. Physical poverty is still very real suffering, so we also share meals, clothing, and basic necessities with the people we meet. We work to find meaningful work and safe housing for people we meet on the streets, and build relationships that go beyond a donation. We know their names, faces, and stories.
