Program areas at Horses Help Foundation

In the 2022-2023 ride year, Horses Help served a total of 73 individual participants with 2,138 services. Some individuals may only have participated in one program, but others attend weekly throughout the year. Our busiest program is still the program on which Horses Help was founded, adaptive riding and horsemanship which served a total of 54 individuals with 2,049 instances of recreational equine services designed for the purpose of contributing positively to the cognitive, physical, emotional, and social well-being of people with disabilities.
Community training included one mental health workshop to provide training and skills testing for more than 20 participants that were interested in becoming path international equine specialists in mental health.
The mental health programming served a total of 86 participants with 332 total sessions with a form of human-equine interaction that provides a personal learning experience. These programs promote the development of self-awareness, self-esteem and confidence, problem solving skills, emotional regulation, and self-control.
