Hospice of Central pa's journey program is focused on supporting bereaved individuals and families through the process of grieving the loss of a loved one. Hcp served over 613 journey program clients in 2023. We design our services to reassure a family member that grieving is a normal part of life and that they are not alone in having feelings of sorrow. Our services are intended to benefit survivors for a minimum of 14 months following the death of a loved one, offering them support through the difficult first year and anniversary period. The majority of our clients were served by our agency prior to their loved one's death. However, our community bereavement program affords us the opportunity to offer the same services to any adult in the community who has experienced a loss and is not sure where to turn. The bereavement services provided by hcp include:--individual visits in the client's home or in our offices--phone calls--periodic mailings of educational/reading materials that address a variety of issues that may surface in grief and what to expect and cards to remember occasions special to the bereaved client.--a number of specific support groups held in carlisle, hershey, or harrisburg--social programs such as a ladies' lunch and a men's breakfast held in local restaurants-- camp dragonfly - one weekend bereavement camp for children ages 6-16
