Program areas at House of Mercy and Encouragement Foundation
Over 2,000 mental health counseling and support sessions were provided on a sliding fee schedule to over 200 individual families and children. In addition nearly 100 group sessions of social skills were provided. Part of our mission is to provide scholarships for those who have no health insurance or deductibles and co-pays so high, it would impossible for those children, families, and individuals to receive the help they need. There are also academic needs among children who also struggle with emotional, mental, and behavioral health issues. While this has always been a strong part of our mission, there are much greater needs now since the COVID 19 pandemic. Mental health struggles are on the rise due to the added stress of isolation, job loss, homeschooling, domestic violence, illness, communication, or relationship issues, or even death of a family member.
Tutoring services to children who have had difficulty with online schooling. This is particularly needed by children who show learning disabilities, attention deficits, and those children who struggle to meet academic expectations. While this has always been a strong part of our mission, there are much greater needs now since the COVID 19 pandemic
