Program areas at House of Neighborly Service of San Antonio Texas
Early intervention programs, includes kids place child development center; respite care child-centered play therapy, mental health evaluations, developmental and speech-language evaluations. The goal is to reduce child abuse and neglect, and to prepare children and families for succesful entry into school. (200 families and children served annually)
Food distribution program which includes a food pantry twice a month with emergncy food boxes provided on an as needed basis. The goal is to provide food to individuals or households in need of food. (3,600 food boxes distributed).
Senior health program includes a nutrutious lunch for seniors 5 days a week. Activities are provided 3 days during the week which includes socialization, arts & crafts, diabetes, aerobic exercise, and health screening. Case management services are also provided to connect older adults to resources they may need to age in place gracefully. The goals is to improve both the physical and mental health of older adults. (286 senior served annually).
Collaborative programs which includes back-to-school supplies thanksgiving dinner, and christmas program for families and children in need, building hope together. The goal is to partner with other organizations to help meet the ongoing needs of the westside community.
