Program areas at House of Ruth
Residential emergency and transitional shelter programs:house of Ruth operates an emergency and transitional residential shelter program providing safe houseing, food, and living essentials. Residents can receive 24-hour crisis intervention support, trauma informed care from counselors and case managers, legal advocacy, and children's advocacy. Transitional shelter provides residents up to 18 months of housing while they complete school or maintain employment. Access to our services can be obtained through our 24-hour crisis hot-line.
Housing services:house of Ruth's housing department is operated out of the pomona outreach office. Once referred to housing, clients have access to a case manager and housing navigator who work together to find permanent housing, assist with the move-in process, and provide rental subsidy for 6 to 24 months depending upon the client's needs.
Community services:house of Ruth operates two outreach centers in pomona and ontario to assist survivors in the community. We offer support groups and classes, case management, child care, legal advocacy, access to a business resource center, food pantry and access to clothing and other living essentials. House of Ruth interacts with middle school, high school and college age youth to provide education on healthy relationships, teen dating vioence, consent, self-esteem, and other important topics through wellness circles and small group discussion.
