Houston International Seafarers Center provides religious outreach and offers low cost recreational and educational facilities for seamen sailing through the Port of Houston and Houston Ship Channel. Program areas at Houston International Seafarers Center

To provide for religious outreach and to provide accessible and reasonably priced educational and recreational facilities for seamen in the Houston ship channel, port of Houston region. Seven full time chaplains visit ships over 200 miles off dock. Churches and other community groups donate clothing and reading material given at no charge.
A commissary is provided at the port of Houston to provide seamen with snacks, souvenirs, and phone cards at a reasonable cost.
