Program areas at Hudson Opera House
Main stage: a cultural beacon in the Hudson valley, Hudson hall offers a dynamic year-round schedule of music, theater, dance, film, and events such as the Hudson jazz festival to connect its diverse community and strengthen the local and regional economy.
Building/rentals: Hudson hall makes its venue available to other nonprofits and community organizations based on need and merit, and welcomes private and corporate rentals.
Community: as a flagship for its community, approximately 70% of Hudson hall's programs are offered free of charge or greatly subsidized through its community arts program to ensure equitable access to the arts. Many of these activities have a focus on children and youth and include multi-session workshops in theater, music, dance, crafts, visual arts, and public exhibitions with local school districts. For older youth, Hudson hall offers workforce development opportunities, including a live arts & media workforce development program in which teens and young adults are paid to receive five full days of training in general workforce readiness in live arts and media career skills. Activities for all ages include exhibitions by regional artists, talks and book events, film screenings, free performances for youth and families, and large-scale festivals such as winter walk, the city's largest event of the year and an economic driver showcasing Hudson's vibrant creative community.
