Program areas at Hudson Taconic Lands

The organization conserved 847 acres of forest in four properties that are now open to the public for hiking, snowshoeing, mountain biking, hunting, fishing, and other healthy family activities. The 416-acre Valentino Family Community Forest and the 150-acre Dill Brook Community Forest (in memory of Robert Simms) opened in year 2023.
Volunteers logged 3,985 hours building trails, teaching workshops, and planning events for the community.
In 2023, 125 local teens participated in the Forest Conservation Corps work and career training program at six different natural area sites in Rensselaer County.
Other program services include education and outreach, trail vision, conservation plan, and land stewardship.
