Community conversationscommunity conversations with the q/c is a monthly community event on different topics related to being queer and living in santa fe. Everyone is welcome, and we offer referrals to anyone needing more information on various topics that affect your life a a queer santa fean.
"pride on the plaza"annual arts & culture festival lasting several days in june. Numerous community and social events including community parade and downtown festival with music, performances and 50 non-profit and business information booths. Estimated 4,500 people served. The event promotes the arts, provides education and helps to build community among the lgtbq+ people and others. "santa fe pride" culminated with the annual santa fe pride parade and festival which took place on the last weekend of june as well as multiple events throughout pride month to support the lgbtqia+ community. As well as a business and organization of trade show of lgbtq+ businesses and organizations which support the community, hra provides a clear resource for education, information and commuity support. In 2021 hra was part of the "can't cancel pride national campaign" to support the lgbtq+ community in the u.s. during the pandemic.
Pride is in our bloodin collaboration with centerlink and cdc, hra santa fe has developed a program of awareness and public information around the importance of lgbtq+ and indigenous communities getting vaccinated against covid-19. The "pride is in our blood" program in new mexico focuses on indigenous communities.being responsible for your health shows pride in your self/community/tribe & family. Show respect for those who came before by learning about and being vaccinated against covid-19. Add to your plurals history by being part of its future.
"lgbtq+ community website" community website with referrals and free resources and assistance for the community. Information on community events and political changes that are relevant to the lgtbq+ community. Hra added a special section and link to q-chat, a weekly hosted and supervised meeting for lbgtq+ youth to provide support safely and virtually. 'shoulders we stand on - our proud history"the santa fe Human Rights Alliance has created a timeline of the lgbtqia community in santa fe and new mexico from 1870 - 2020. We are in the process now of updating and expanding this timeline. We will be asking the community to continue to participate and contribute to this process.
