Description
The Humane America Animal Foundation strives to promote and implement innovative and effective programs that significantly benefit animals and people. Previously, the organization's primary program was adopt-a-pet.com, the world's largest non-profit homeless pet adoption website, which now lists over 17,000 animal shelters, SPCAs, humane societies, and rescue groups while displaying around. However, after September 13th of 2021, their primary program became food system innovations dedicated to creating a more sustainable, humane, and equitable global food system.

Program areas at Food System Innovations

Food System Innovations is the primary program of Humane America Animal Foundation. It consists of several sub programs but all have the same goal/mission. Humane America Animal Foundation's vision is a world that is more Humane, and our mission is to create, implement, and promote innovative and effective programs that have significant and measurable benefits for animals and people. Through our Food System Innovations program, we work to support the reduction/elimination of animals in the human Food System.
Animal welfare grants. Humane America still has recurring donations from the adopt-a-pet.com program post sale 9.13.2021. Since the original intent of the donors was to support companion animals, we use the funds collected to provide $1,000.00 grants to Animal welfare organizations that apply for grants. Approval is based on helping as many companion animals and people as possible. Provides grants for veterinary clinics, catch-spay and release programs, pet Food pantries and to fill gaps in organizations budgets for supplies.
Fiscal sponsorships. Humane America Animal Foundation supports grassroots groups and organizations by providing fiscal sponsorships. We offer a comprehensive model and a pre-approved granting model. We identify particularly impactful organizations and programs to reduce/remove animals from the human Food System.
