Low-cost veterinary clinic: the spay and neuter clinic is guided by empirical evidence demonstrating a direct link between pet overpopulation and the absence of sterilization protocols. An integral facet of our mission is the provision of economically viable and accessible spay and neuter services, along with low-cost animal vaccines and parasite preventatives. Located in north Miami beach, our facility operates as a cost-effective provider of preventive veterinary care. Our primary objective is the mitigation of pet overpopulation within our local community, in alignment with the County's overarching aim of achieving "no kill community" status. In pursuit of these objectives, we conducted 6,046 low-cost spay and neuter surgeries throughout the calendar year of 2022. As part of our continued commitment to our mission, the clinic is exploring expansion of services in 2024 to further address the needs of our community.
The Society's other programs and services include Humane education, off-site adoptions, outreaches, donor stewarding and volunteer services. The Humane Society of Greater Miami believes that the building of a more kind, just and loving community for the pets and people of miami-dade County begins with instilling the values of kindness and compassion. At public and private schools, scouting troops, special needs groups, local libraries, various community youth organizations as well as adult organizations, the Humane Society of Greater Miami teaches the young and old appropriate lessons about kindness to animals, empathy and compassion, responsible pet care, and the causes and results of pet overpopulation.
Soffer & fine animal adoption center: annually, we welcome thousands of unwanted, neglected, abused, and otherwise displaced animals into our care. Through our dedicated efforts, we grant these animals a renewed opportunity by providing compassionate nurturing, nourishment, safe shelter, and exemplary medical care, including vital preventative vaccinations and spay or neuter procedures. We vow to support them for as long as necessary until we find them loving, responsible, and committed homes.
