Humane Society of North Texas acts as an advocate on behalf of all animals and ensures their legal, moral, and ethical considerations and protection. They provide for and promote appreciation of animals, believing that they have intrinsic value beyond their economic worth. The Society provides basic veterinary care to underserved areas of the community and educates the general public about animal care, spay/neuter, and animals in need of adoption. Additionally, they investigate animal cruelty cases, assist with animal seizures, and aid in related prosecution of civil and criminal cases.

Program areas at Humane Society of North Texas

Animal Care - The Society provides for the general care, feeding, and adoption of animals. In 2022, 8,074 total pets were adopted and our live release rate was 97%.
Cruelty Investigations - The Society provides for investigation of animal cruelty cases and assists with animal seizures and related prosecution of civil and criminal cases. In 2022, we saved 466 animals from cruelty.
Community Outreach - The Society provides basic veterinary care to underserved areas of the community and provides education to the general public regarding animal care, spay/neuter, and animals in need of adoption. In 2022, we helped 18,801 pets, which included completing or funding 8,907 spay/neuter surgeries.
