Program areas at Humane Society of Tampa Bay
Shelter/Adoption Center - Services include sheltering strays and previously owned animals, preventative medical care, treatment of illness & injury, pet microchipping, spay/neuter surgery of all animals prior to adoption by pet owners in the community.
Community Cats - This program utilizes Trap/Neuter/Vaccinate/Return (TNVR) which is a humane method to sterilize and vaccinate feral/community cats and return them to their homes. TNVR is a proven method to keep these cats healthy, control cat populations, and reduce feline euthanasia in our community.
Animal Hospital - Provides affordable veterinary care for owned pets. Services include spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, x-rays, wellness care, heartworm treatment, and specialty surgeries. Affordable health care helps owners keep their pets rather than relinquish them to shelters.
Pet Pantry & Animeals - These programs provide pet food and supplies to help people keep their pets in their homes. In 2023, we distributed 201,026 lbs. of pet food and other items through these programs.Humane Education - Provides public education for the proper care and treatment of animals through distribution of educational materials, newsletters, and our website. We also educate and engage children and teenagers who love animals and wish to learn more about the animals in our care, learn how to stay safe around animals, and be responsible caregivers to pets.
