Program areas at I Look Like Love
Immediate relief is provided through diapers and other essentials distributed by our Mobile Diaper Pantry, the first of its kind in North Texas. Diaper Day events serve as our mass distribution channel. Supplies are also made available to families in crisis through emergency assistance and disaster recovery. 265,670 diapers were disbursed to 4149 families in 2021, including 2095 children served through our disaster recovery initiative after the Winter Storm Uri and 101 crisis cases receiving Emergency Diaper Assistance
EmpowerU Program of New Mothers works with single mothers to build their capacity for mental, maternal, and financial wellness. Prenatal and postnatal education, life skills development, financial literacy, and workforce readiness services are provided through an 8-week cohort and our "Global Baby Shower" events. Cohort participants are assigned a Mommy Mentor to help them navigate and prepare for their new beginnings. 101 new mothers participated in EmpowerU in 2021.
