Program areas at ICA
Ica, the nation's oldest regional Conservation center, offers services to museums, libraries, churches, zoos, hospitals, universities, other collecting entities, and the public. Services include laboratory and on- site Conservation, art storage, crates and displays, assessments, surveys, photography, disaster assistance, grant collaboration, and publications for professional and general audiences. Ica also offers consulting and informational resources for preventive Conservation practices that preserve collections.
Ica's very active education and outreach program offers educational workshops, seminars, and public service information. Ica collaborates with over thirty cultural and academic institutions across the state and beyond to provide preservation education to a demographically and geographically diverse audience. Ica's outreach activities connect numerous individuals with the Conservation and preservation fields, many of whom have had no prior knowledge of the sector. Ica also works to advocate for the preservation of material art and culture in the public domain.
Ica's highly trained and experienced conservators conserve and preserve a range of objects including paintings, murals, art objects, furniture, statuary, monuments, pottery, works on paper, archival materials, manuscripts, books, posters, flags, costumes, metal objects, and historic items.
