Program areas at Icicle Creek Center for the Arts
Educational programs: 1) international chamber music institute and festival, a renowned 3-week intensive course working with professional musicians mastering performance technique and repertoire, and several performances, 2) Icicle Creek summer symphony, a week-long summer camp for students 8-18 arranged in two orchestras, and featuring master classes, faculty concert and finale concert performance, 3) young artists piano camp: a week-long intensive workshop in classical piano for students under 18, 4) young artists theater camp: a week-long camp for drama students involving classes, workshops and performance with professional actors and directors and 5) numerous workshops and retreats for school groups and individuals.
Performance programs: 1) musical performance by artists in the areas of classical instrumental, flamenco, opera and other vocal, jazz and bluegrass music, 2) literary Arts presentations featuring lectures and workshops by published authors and 3) other festivals, including documentary film festival, bluegrass festival, festival of spoken word. While marketed to the public, each performance event is curated and presented to provide educational value to the audience.
