Program areas at Idaho Smart Growth
Healthy Communities Promoting citizen and community health through better community design: making walkable neighborhoods that are safer and have a vibrant mix of uses. This work is in collaberation with health, transportation, education and design sectors.
Moving Idaho Forward Working with grassroots groups and community leaders to focus attention on state and local transportation policies and funding and help communities define and demand transportation systems that offer more non-motorized and public transportation choices.
Smart Growth organizational improvement and capacity-building. This includes education, advocacy, training and other action on a wide range of growth and development issues throughout Idaho. We work with agencies, developers and the public to help build more walkable, mixed use communities with real transportation and housing choices and a strong sense of place.
